International Cooperative Alliance and International Labour Organization launch survey on co-operatives and women’s empowerment

04 Feb 2015

About the survey

Twenty years after the Fourth World Conference on Women (held in Beijing) it is necessary to discover to what extent and in what areas co-operatives have succeeded in providing opportunities for women, and where there is room for improvement. This survey is a part of an initiative of the International Labour Organization and the International Co-operative Alliance. It requires approximately ten minutes to complete. The main objective is to assess the impact of co-operatives on women’s empowerment and gender equality globally.
The survey will have significant importance for our report on this topic to the 59th Session of the Commission on the Status of Women (to take place in New York in March 2015). The research will also be presented at the Alliance General Assembly and Global Conference (to take place in Antalya, Turkey in November 2015).
Please take a few minutes of your time to answer this survey in the spirit of co-operation. We are highly interested in your perspective on the subject.
The results of this research will be publicly available although individual respondents will remain anonymous. Your participation would be greatly appreciated. Please complete the survey by February 18, 2015.
