Workshop: Voluntary Guidelines on the Responsible Governance of Tenure

The Alliance, in collaboration with the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), is hosting an all-day workshop to educate co-operatives about the Voluntary Guidelines on the Responsible Governance of Tenure of Land, Fisheries and Forests (VGGT). The VGGT will help co-operative producers understand their tenure rights, and thereby achieve sustainable livelihoods, social stability, housing security, rural development, environmental protection and sustainable social and economic development, as well as help eradicate poverty and hunger. The VGGT are currently being implemented by governments and non-state actors.

This workshop will raise awareness about the VGGT among co-operatives and provide a forum for co-operators to discuss tenure issues in their own countries.
