Job Post: Communications Officer (Brussels/Washington)

The International Co-operative Alliance is seeking a Communications Officer to execute its global communications strategy.

Responsibilities include: overall management of the web site and newsletter, including writing and posting/publishing content; managing social networks, including creating micro-content; drafting annual reports; and promoting the organisation's meetings.

We are seeking an individual with a degree in communications, public relations, journalism or media relations and at least five year's working experience in a communications field. Experience with cooperative enterprises is preferred. Excellent oral and written communication skills in English is required, with a preference for fluency in an additional language. Must be able to work independently against deadlines.

The Alliance is an international nonprofit association established in 1895 to advance the values-based co-operative enterprise model. Our members in 100 countries represent a billion individuals worldwide. The Communications Officer reports to the Director-General and will be officed in Brussels, Belgium or Washington, D.C. depending on the candidate selected.
