2022 arrivals: Central Housing Cooperative Union (CHCU) from Egypt joins the ICA in February

20 Feb 2022

The ICA welcomed a new member in March – the Central Housing Cooperative Union (CHCU) from Egypt. A non-governmental organisation, CHCU represents 3,000 cooperative housing societies representing three million individual members.

The cooperatives aim to provide adequate modern housing for middle to low-income citizens at an affordable cost while providing services for the benefit of their members. CHCU has participated in ICA conferences since 1984 and has been a member of the organisation on an on and off basis.

They re-joined to exchange experiences and success stories with cooperative housing societies from other countries.

The ICA has now 313 member organisations of which 272 are full members and 41 are Associate Members from 110 countries.
