16 Aug 2013
The Regional Director for the International Co-operative Alliance in Asia-Pacific is to retire at the end of the year.  Dr. Chan-Ho Choi has held the role for four years at the office in Delhi, India, which has seen "high performance" during that time, according to Director-General Charles Gould. Mr Gould said: "Under his leadership, we have seen consistently high performance in that Region, with solid financial management, the development of improved administrative systems, and the establishment of a sub-regional office in Kuala Lumpur to extend service to our members.  "The strategic plan he developed for approval by the Regional Board aligns with our Blueprint for a Co-operative Decade and positions the Region extremely well for advancement throughout the remaining years of this decade." Dr Choi will be returning to his Korea home on his retirement to spend more time with his family. Over the coming months, Dr Choi will be working with the Global Office to recruit a successor.  Added Mr Gould: "We will miss him in that role and wish him the rest and relaxation he has well earned." • For more details on the Asia-Pacific Regional Director vacancy and to apply, visit: ica.coop/en/co-operative-jobs.
