On February 24 2021, ICA’s regional entity in Asia and Pacific (ICA-AP) held its 14th Regional Assembly represented by all members. The assembly was held virtually to consider administrative issues and approve the postponement of the ICA-AP Regional Board elections.
Due to COVID-19 imposed travel restrictions, the elections had to be postponed and could only take place in-person, as per ICA rules. Therefore, the assembly approved the postponement of the Regional Board elections. The Regional Assembly will convene in-person to conduct the elections, in conjunction with the ICA World Cooperative Congress in Seoul, Korea on November 30 2021.
This meeting also discussed the key activities and events carried out by the ICA-AP office and its thematic committees since the last Regional Assembly held in Tehran, Iran 2018. A progress report on the ICA-EU Partnership was also presented.
The online assembly was attended by more than 110 participants from 18 countries – Australia, China, India, Indonesia, Iran, Japan, Jordon, Korea, Malaysia, Mongolia, Nepal, Palestine, Pakistan, Philippines, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Thailand, and Vietnam.
