The International Year of Cooperatives 2025 is a United Nations initiative that recognises and celebrates the essential role cooperatives play in sustainable development. This year-long celebration focuses on how cooperatives contribute to poverty reduction, economic resilience, and inclusive growth around the world.

The Cooperatives and Mutuals Leadership Circle (CM50) brings together cooperative and mutual leaders from across the globe, many from the World Cooperative Monitor list. Leveraging the 2025 International Year of Cooperatives (IYC2025), the CM50 first aim is to present a Charter and a Commitment Plan during the Second UN World Summit of Social Development (WSSD2) to be held from 4 to 6 November, in Doha, Qatar.

ICA works with policymakers to create a more conducive environment for cooperatives. The ICA has a permanent seat and a consultative status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) and is a founding member of the Committee for the Promotion and Advancement of Cooperatives (COPAC).

The ICA and Euricse partner in this annual report analysing the socio-economic value and impact of the top 300 biggest cooperatives in the world.

The ICA has been participating in G20 Engagement Groups since 2014, having representatives in taskforces and contributing actively to the discussions and reporting.

​The 33rd World Cooperative Congress kicked off a consultative process aimed at finding out how well the Statement on the Cooperative Identity has stood the test of time. We want to hear from cooperators by the end of this calendar year.

ICETT serves as a strategic hub that provides members with valuable information to strengthen cooperatives' competitive advantage.
