Online registration remains open for the International Workshop and Summer School on Cooperative Law, which will take place in Pula, Croatia, on 23 August.
Hosted by the Faculty of Economics of the Juraj Dobrila University in Pula, Croatia, the two events will explore key developments in the field of cooperative law.
Participants will learn about the ICA-EU Partnership Legal Framework Analysis (LFA), a global research initiative undertaken by the ICA and its regional offices between 2017 and 2021 and co-funded by the ICA and the European Union. LFA is the most comprehensive comparative study of cooperative legislation to date, featuring 80 national reports and four regional reports.
The ICA is launching the second phase of the LFA this year to expand the geographical scope of the research and deepen the analytical focus by producing global thematic reports.
The International Workshop on Cooperative Law will provide a platform for dialogue among legal scholars, practitioners, policymakers, and emerging professionals on contemporary legal and policy issues affecting cooperatives at the national, regional, and international levels. Participants will also be able to critically review and update the existing LFA questionnaire and research methodology.
The workshop will be followed by the Cooperative Law Summer School, co-organised by the ICA and the Saint Mary’s University of Canada, which aims to cultivate the next generation of cooperative legal experts.
Speakers include Giuseppe Guerini, the President of Cooperatives Europe and board liaison to the ICA Cooperative Law Committee (CLC); members of the CLC global thematic committee, regional experts and research officers.
The two events will provide opportunities for participants to exchange knowledge and comparative perspectives on cooperative legal regimes at national, regional, and international levels.
