In celebration of 2013 International Day of Co-operatives, the Japan Joint Committee of Co-operatives (JJC) and the Cooperatives Japan (national cooperative alliance replacing the Japan National Planning Committee for IYC 2012) are organizing the forum with the theme of “Cooperatives’ Efforts toward Recovery from Disasters” to further strengthen cooperation among cooperatives in Japan for reconstruction. The keynote speech will be given by Mr. Ryota Koyama (Associate Professor at Fukushima University), and the panel discussion will follow to share reconstruction efforts by Japanese cooperatives, lessons from their reconstruction efforts and their challenges for the future and to reconsider roles and values of cooperatives.
