Cooperatives are Key Stakeholders in advancing SDGs through Culture and the Creative Sector

Mondiacult

ICA organized the side-event “Cooperatives are Key Stakeholders in advancing SDGs through Culture and the Creative Sector” at the historic UNESCO Mondiacult 2022.

It took place as a hybrid event on the 26 September and attended by 200 participants online and on-site in Smart Belgium, Brussels.

The event has its roots in the 2016 inscription of the idea and practice of organizing shared interests in cooperatives in the UNESCO Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. It explored the role of cooperatives in safeguarding cooperative culture and cultural heritage as well as in shaping a resilient cultural and creative sector that faces global current challenges.

This event was organised with the invaluable support of Cooperatives of the Americas, CICOPA, and partners who supported the ICA's application at Mondiacult2022.
