Mr. Nyhus is chairman of HSB, the largest cooperative housing organization in Sweden. During his professional life he has been working mostly with issues concerning society and democracy, and has previously served as deputy mayor for traffic, construction and infrastructure in Gothenburg, Sweden.
Johan Nyhus is a firm believer in the cooperative model’s strength when it comes to sustainability, democracy, and the empowerment of people all over the world. If elected, he would be honored to work together to promote and advocate for the cooperative model. Particularly when it comes to show how cooperatives are contributing to and important players for a sustainable future, environmentally, economically, and socially, all over the world. In bringing with him examples and experience from the Swedish cooperative movement and its more than a hundred years history of contributing to a better society, he believes in sharing ideas, learning from and inspiring each other.
