Cooperatives Europe launches new website for co-op start-ups

The Alliance’s regional office, Cooperatives Europe has launched a new website for co-operative startups – www.starter.coop.

 

Coop Starter is aimed at young entrepreneurs looking to set up co-operative startups. The website includes information about the co-operative model, a step-by-step guide to setting up a co-operative and a map highlighting local support points across Europe.

 

The website is the outcome of the CoopStarter project, an initiative co-founded by the EU, bringing together eights partners from across the continent. The project was designed to raise awareness of the co-operative business model among younger generations and helping them through the start-up phase.

 

Commenting on the new website, Louis Cousin, project officer at Cooperatives Europe said: “Mass unemployment has been hitting hard new generations for decades now. Through CoopStarter and this new website, the European cooperative movement is setting a cornerstone to develop ambitious actions in line of young people’s needs, fostering the emergence of democratic, sustainable and inclusive businesses and jobs.”
