The ICA-EU Partnership on International Cooperative Development celebrates its first anniversary

18 Mar 2017

The Framework Partnership Agreement on international co-operative development between the Alliance and the European Commission celebrated its first anniversary this month. The staff from all ICA offices met for the programme’s Review Meeting in San Jose, Costa Rica, between the 13th and 16th of March.

The Review Meeting, hosted by Coop Americas, served to present each offices’ highlights, and discuss the action plan for year 2 at a regional and global level. The meeting also included the programme’s first planned workshops in the areas of research, policy, and EU procedures and administration, facilitated by experts in said fields.

Outside the meeting room, Cooperatives of the Americas organised a guided tour to coffee co-op “Café Naranjo”, where the team had the opportunity to learn about traditional and modern coffee production, and about Costa Rica’s co-operative history and models. To learn more about the programme you can re-watch our Facebook Live transmission featuring all project managers, and follow the hashtag #coops4dev on social media platforms.
