Co-operators are being urged to enter the Rochdale Pioneers Awards, which will be awarded near the home of the Rochdale Pioneers in October. A special international dinner in Manchester on 31 October, following the General Assembly at Co-operatives United, will recognise an individual, or under special circumstances an organisation, that has contributed to innovative and financially sustainable activities that have significantly benefited co-operative members. Members of the ICA can nominate a current or former member or employee who has served an ICA member organisation. Organisations that are nominated must be an ICA member, or an affiliate of a member. ICA Director-General Chuck Gould said: “The Rochdale Pioneers Award, by its very name, signals that we all stand on the shoulders of those who have gone before us. It's so rewarding to see ICA's members call out, through this award, those individuals to whom future co-operators will owe a like debt of gratitude.” The deadline for the award is 15 September and to celebrate the International Year of Co-operatives, the selection committee is seeking nominees that have made a strong contribution to increasing the global visibility of co-operatives. • To submit your entry, along with supporting documentation, email Director-General Chuck Gould by 15 September: gould@ica.coop
