Take part in the 'co-operative brand' research

30 Apr 2013

Co-operators have one week left to take part in research to help influence the design of the global identity for co-operatives.

In April, the International Co-operative Alliance, in conjunction with its design partner Calverts, launched the Co-operative Global Identity Survey.

In a special email to co-operatives, the ICA's Director General Charles Gould invited co-operators to take part in the research. He said: "We're keen to get the widest possible participation by engaging co-operators from all around the world, representing every economic sector from grass roots members to co-operative leaders."

Provisionally timetabled for a November launch at the ICA’s General Assembly in Cape Town, the marque and identity have been commissioned in support of the ICA’s Blueprint for a Co-operative Decade, aimed at strengthening the unity, visibility and reputation of co-operatives as a worldwide force for sustainable and democratic enterprise.

The marque will be something that can be adopted by all co-ops, whether they wish to adopt it as a sub-brand or add it to promotional materials. At its Moscow board meeting at the end of March, the ICA agreed to become a sub-brand and change the visual identity of the organisation and that of its Regional Offices and Sectoral Organisations.

The research project has so far attracted over 500 responses, with the majority of responses coming from English speakers and the consumer sector. Even though 72 countries are represented so far, the ICA is encouraging co-operatives around the world to ask their members and employees to take part in the ten-minute survey.

To find out how to encourage your members to take part, dowload the ICA toolkit, which details all the information needed, along with templates.
