In celebration of the 2025 International Year of Cooperatives, the journal Cooperativismo y Desarrollo invites scholars, practitioners, and cooperative actors to contribute to a special issue dedicated to the role of the Social and Solidarity Economy (SSE) in shaping sustainable territorial development. From building inclusive local economies to responding to overlapping social, ecological, and economic crises, SSE actors have become key architects of a more just and community-rooted development model.
This call for contributions seeks to explore how cooperatives and other SSE entities strengthen territorial ecosystems through job creation, social inclusion, local reinvestment, and democratic participation. Topics of interest include solidarity finance, agroecology, intergenerational cooperation, gender inclusion, circular economies, and public–solidarity alliances. Articles may address both conceptual frameworks and real-world experiences that illustrate the SSE’s role in constructing resilient, people-centered territories.
Submissions are open until 23 September 2025, with publication expected by 26 December 2025. Authors may submit research articles, reflections, reviews, or essays. More informations here.
