Márcio Freitas has served as President of OCB since 2001, leading Brazil's cooperative movement across every sector. A farmer and coffee producer from a family of cooperative leaders, he has driven major regulatory milestones and expanded international cooperation, including, when he was when he was president of the Organization of Cooperatives of Lusophone Countries (OCPLP), support for Mozambique's Law of Cooperatives. He serves as ICAO Vice President for the Americas and as a member of the ICA global board, leading agendas including the Cooperative Cultural Heritage and the closing of the International Year of Cooperatives at COP30.
