María Eugenia Pérez Zea is a Colombian lawyer, specialized in Administrative Law and Socioeconomic Project Evaluation, with over 20 years of leadership experience in the cooperative movement. She serves as Executive President of ASCOOP, principal member of the Board of Coomeva, International Cooperative Alliance Board member, member of the Gender Equality Committee, and member of the Board of CONFECOOP. She was the first woman to chair the Board of COOMEVA and has led integration, governance, and gender equality initiatives both nationally and internationally. In 2020, she was recognized by SHE-COOPS as one of the 100 most influential women in the global cooperative movement.
