The International Co-operative Alliance and its scientific partner, Euricse, are asking co-operatives to contribute to the World Co-operative Monitor.
The index has become the premier source of annual data on the size of the co-operative economy. At the core of the Monitor is a list of the 300 largest co-operatives in the world, measured by turnover. The report also presents sectorial rankings and in-depth analysis of particular sectors or regions.
The Monitor’s first edition was published in 2012, marking the International Year of Co-operatives. The report is based on a survey designed by the International Co-operative Alliance in association with Euricse.
The Alliance and Euricse are reaching out to co-operatives of all sizes, across sectors and regions, in order to expand the coverage of the database. The two organisations aim to include smaller co-operatives with turnover below USD $50m.
The questionnaire is available for completion in multiple languages at www.monitor.coop. Co-operators wishing to receive the survey by email or an excel sheet in order to input data, can contact Ilana Gotz at ilana.gotz@euricse.eu
The findings will be presented at the Alliance’s Global Conference in Malaysia in November.
