Petar Stefanov re-elected President of Consumer Co-operatives Worldwide

On 14 November the Alliance’s sectoral organisation, Consumer Co-operatives Worldwide (CCW), held its General Assembly in Malaysia, Kuala Lumpur.

The meeting took part within the framework of the Alliance’s 2017 General Assembly and Global Conference.

Petar Stefanov, PhD - President of CCU, Bulgaria was re-elected President of CCW. Eiichi Honda - President of JCCU in Japan was elected Vice-President.

The other elected members of the executive committee are: Rodolfo Zoppi - President of FACC, Argentina; Juhani Ilmola - Director, SOK Finland; D.S.K. Pathirana - General Manager, COOPFED, Sri Lanka; PARK Inja - Chairperson of iCoop Korea, South Korea; and Illia Gorokhovskyi, PhD - Chairman of Coop Ukraine.

Members pledged active co-operation in the field of coop-to-coop trade, youth policy, intersectoral collaboration and in pooling together co-operative academic resources in drafting the long-term strategy for the development of consumer co-operatives globally: vision 2030 and beyond.
