Dear co-operators,
The International Co-operative Alliance will reach another milestone in its history during its important gathering in Kuala Lumpur in November. The event will be marked by a presidential election and the re-election of many board members – as well as a change of course under a new director general.
Even though I will always have the co-operative movement at heart, I will pass the torch to a new elected official. This decision, motivated by family and personal matters, was very difficult to make. I am, however, convinced that you will continue your efforts with the aim of maintaining the movement’s growth and ascension within local, national and international economies.
During the coming weeks, I will make it my mission to highlight what we have built together. The global co-operative and mutual movement contributes to many world issues and positions itself as a true leader for communities. Our history is rich and our successes are many.
I would like to take advantage of these last moments with you to send you my appreciation and my sense of pride with the force of our group. We have realised these great achievements together through inter-co-operation, with the essential support of an engaged board of directors and a devoted general director.
Here are a few words on this period spent together:
See you soon,
Monique
