Call for donations to support Australian cooperatives affected by bushfires

26 Feb 2020

Australia’s Business Council of Co-operatives and Mutuals (BCCM), a member of the ICA, is supporting an appeal by the Australian Mutuals Foundation to raise funds for members affected by the bushfire crisis.

Cooperators wishing to support the Australian movement can make donations to the Australian Mutuals Fundations bushfire appeal.

Donations can be made online by credit card or by using a SWIFT code. Those wishing to make an online donation will need to select the BCCM as their organisation under the ‘Member of’ menu. Those wishing to donate using a SWIFT code can email BCCM chief operating officer, Reece Kinnane at reece.kinnane@bccm.coop.

BCCM will ensure donations are shared with local cooperatives in affected communities and will report back to donors on the impact of their donation. The apex body is also encouraging coops and mutuals that have been affected by the bushfires to tell their story using this online form to enable the wider cooperative and mutual community to support them.

More information on how BCCM is supporting the nation’s cooperatives and mutuals recover from the bushfires is available here.
