#coops4dev closing event: five years strengthening the cooperative movement worldwide

22 Sep 2021

On the 30 September, #coops4dev celebrates the end of the Partnership with the European Union on international cooperative development. During five and a half years, #coops4dev has contributed to cement the role of the cooperative model as a key international development actor. Throughout the years and thanks to the joint work done by ICA global and regional offices under the ICA-EU Partnership, we have also managed to weave a solid network of partners and stakeholders from the cooperative movement and the international development field working at global and local levels.

Together with our partners, we have developed many impactful and innovative activities with sound effect on several areas such as research, legislation, policy and partnerships, capacity building and education, and communication and visibility.

The closing event will gather the #coops4dev’s team, conformed by staff members from all ICA regions, who will look back on this journey and present the main activities developed during the Partnership. They will also look towards the future and discuss what is coming next.

Let’s celebrate with us: join the conversation

The event doesn’t pretend to be a mere showcase of the activities developed under the Partnership, but a conversation on the importance of multi-stakeholder partnerships and the impact of the #coops4dev’s work on the cooperative movement and its contribution to economic, social, and environmental sustainability and justice, with one eye on the future.

The event will be structured into two parts:

- An opening session focusing on the importance of collaboration and partnerships.

- Three parallel sessions on:

  • research
  • capacity building
  • policy dialogue and partnerships
