ICA welcomes new members from Costa Rica and Kenya in February 2020

Two new members have joined the International Cooperative Alliance in February 2020: Cooperativa de Ahorro y Crédito de Servidores Judiciales R.L. (COOPEJUDICIAL R.L.) from Costa Rica as a Member and The Co-operative Alliance of Kenya (CAK) from Kenya as a Member.

The Cooperative Alliance of Kenya (CAK) is the National Apex Organization for Kenya's Co-operative Movement and includes eight federation members.

Its primary role is to lobby and advocate for a favourable legal and policy environment for cooperatives. It also enables collaboration, networking, representation, and focuses on growing and developing the cooperative movement.  

COOPEJUCIAL R.L. is a credit and savings cooperative for those employed in the judiciary sector in Costa Rica. It provides financial services and insurance policies. The credit cooperative has over 5,500 members and an income of USD 7.2m.

The ICA has now 312 member organisations of which 269 are full members and 41 are Associate Members from 109 countries.
