Youth President Candidates- Elections 2022

The Youth President is voted by the Youth network members that were endorsed by an ICA member and she/he will be ratified by the ICA General Assembly that will take place on June 2022 in Seville. The election will take place electronically starting from 11th of April to the 16th of April 2022, for a six-day time period (Monday-Saturday) to be determined based on the availability of the election observers. 

On Wednesday 6th of April at 14:30 CET Brussels time, you will have the opportunity to meet all the candidates during a live webinar. In the following weeks, you will receive more information about the webinar.

Ana Aguirre

Ana is co-founder and worker owner at TAZEBAEZ S.Coop, an innovation group that focuses its activity in the creation of learning and training ecosystems for companies and education institutions (Travelling U.); visual communication (MakeItVisual); and participates in various companies in emerging sectors. In TAZEBAEZ Ana leads the Cooperative Development line and is a member of the innovation consultancy team. Since 2020 she is COO of Platform Cooperatives NOW! (Mondragon University and New School) and she was one of 12 participants at the Harvard Research Sprint on Data Cooperatives.

Ana serves as VP for Europe in the ICA Youth network and Executive Committee, and represents youth in the Cooperative Identity Advisory Group. 

I am here because I believe. I believe in taking responsibility and leading by example. I believe in the power of action but I have also learnt the power of diplomacy. I don’t only believe in coops, I am coops.

Leslie Alvarado

Leslie Alvarado 

At 25 years old, Leslie has studies on International Business, Pedagogical Virtual Environments for Teaching, Intelligence Technological Tools Business, Emotional Intelligence, Corporate Language, Diction and Projection, etc.He has been a flight attendant, service agent, lecturer, instructor, promoter, translator, moderator, etc, which allowed him to work in different cultural environments.

Throughout his professional training, he has visited more than 20 countries achieving adaptability to different spaces of time, cultures and personalities, always in search for continuous improvement and applying five fundamental precepts in its Development: The art of helping others, making the most of time, a passion for ecological preservation, keeping a focus on improving continuously and extract the positive from each situation. 

My evolution, both personal and professional, today is adhered to the Cooperative Identity and the mission of the ICA. Preserving the cooperative values and principles and understanding that, as a society, it is our collective responsibility to work as a team to overcome the challenges that we face and overcome the borders that during our existence have tried to separate us.

Linah Sohelo

Linah Sohelo 

Linah Sohelo has seven years’ experience in co-operatives working for Kenya Union of Savings and Credit Co-operatives (KUSCCO Ltd), she holds a Degree in Bachelor of Commerce, Certified Public Account (Part 2), Certificate of Proficiency in Insurance and Certificate in Co-operative Business Model. Linah specializes in promoting business growth and brand visibility showcasing its products and services. By attending Annual General Meetings, Education days and other SACCOs activities she interacted with the youth SACCOs and she understands their needs. Linah also serves as an ISO champion to ensure compliance to ISO 9001:2015 standard and requirements. Linah is passionate about the youth and their growth into the cooperative world

I am exceptionally ready to offer new innovative and creative ideas to ensure the goal of involving the youths in the cooperative movement is met. I have worked closely with the youth from all spheres of life including the disabled.

Mabruck Mpangule

Mabruck Mpangule 

I am Mabruck Ismail Mpangule aged 30 years, I was born and raised in the Mtwara region in Tanzania. I am an accountant at RUNALI CO-OPERATIVE UNION found in the Lindi region in Tanzania. RUNALI Co-operative union is a main agricultural coop established in 2013 and registered in 2018 having 105 members (AMCOS – Agricultural Marketing Co-operative Societies) in three districts of Ruangwa, Nachingwea and Liwale hence forming the name RUNALI. The main cash crops produced by the members and RUNALI altogether are Raw Cashews and Sesame.

I hold a bachelor's degree in Business Administration and I am now doing CPA (Certified Public Accountants) exams. I have three major definite goals in my life, to become a Professor in Business, a World-class Co-operative activist, motivational and spiritual speaker.
 

In my four years of leadership my motto always will be 'Youth the Engines of present-day Coops'. I have a firm goal of integrating youth with Coops around the world whether through being employed in Cooperatives or any matter relating to coops. Whenever Youth plan to start businesses, I would put forward an idea of a Coop as the best form of a business unit.
