Youth Network Survey: A social media platform for co-operators?

02 Jun 2016

The Alliance’s Youth Network is looking at how social media could connect and mobilise young co-operators from around the world. In collaboration with CDS Consulting Coop, the network is carrying out a feasibility study to find out whether co-operators would use a social media platform dedicated to co-ops.

The platform could include information about events, opportunities, news and jobs. It could also help co-operators from across the world organise around common projects.

It is estimated that by 2018 there will be 2.55 billion social network users around the globe, up from 1,87 billion in 2014. The Network sees young people as playing a crucial role to achieving the Alliance’s Blueprint agenda. With young people using social media, the platform could be an effective engagement tool.
