Interested in learning more about how local cooperatives can strengthen our community and change the food system? Join us to snack, celebrate and learn about alternative business models that have the power to change the food system through education, empowerment and co-op...eration. The United Nations has declared 2012 the International Year of Cooperatives and students in the UMass Sustainable Food and Farming Program are helping to spread the word! This informational and celebratory event will feature several co-operatives that are helping to change the food system in our community. The event will showcase student research and present a discussion session with of a panel of representatives from these local coops; Valley Green Feast Collective, Pedal People Co-operative, Earthfoods Cafe, Franklin Community Co-ops, and Equal Exchange. We would love to see each and every one of you to help us spread the word about the local co-operative food movement and the Co-operative Teach In Initiative developed by TESA.
