The regional report for the region of Asia and Pacific summarises the findings of the national reports completed in the region for the ICA-EU Partnership Legal Framework Analysis research. Authored by a key regional expert for the study, Mr. Upali Herath, the report provides an overview of the regional trends and common features in the region and highlights a number of recommendations for an improved enabling environment for cooperatives. Knowledge and evaluation of cooperative legislation is a tool for members to support advocacy and recommendations on the creation or improvement of legal frameworks, to document the implementation of cooperative legislation and policies, and to monitor their evolution.
